Paws & Think is a volunteer group in Indianapolis bringing dogs to schools and youth agencies.

Paws & Think is a local Indianapolis volunteer organization dedicated to bringing therapy dogs to schools, detention centers, humane societies, and youth agencies. The group operates a tiered program to engage young people in animal-assisted activities. Junior handlers, aged 12 to 15, can join the team with adult supervision, while registered handlers must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer independently. This initiative aims to connect children and teens with animals in a supportive environment, fostering responsibility and community engagement. The group does not specify a fixed schedule or location, as their presence varies depending on the needs of the partner organizations they serve. Volunteers are expected to work alongside professional handlers to ensure the safety and well-being of both the dogs and the participants. Paws & Think focuses on creating positive interactions between youth and animals, offering a unique way for families to spend time together while contributing to the local community. For those interested in joining, specific requirements include age verification and adherence to safety protocols established by the organization and its partner institutions.
