Soul Food Project is an urban farm in Indianapolis that teaches sustainable food systems.

Soul Food Project is an urban farm located in Indianapolis’ Martindale‑Brightwood neighborhood that introduces children and adults to sustainable food systems. The farm offers hands‑on learning about growing, harvesting, and caring for the land, helping participants understand how food reaches their tables. Each spring the organization opens applications for its seven‑week SEEDs to Leaders program, a summer initiative designed for youth ages 14 to 17 who want to develop leadership skills while working on the farm. Outside of the SEEDs program, any teen 16 or older may volunteer on the farm at any time, assisting with planting, maintenance, and community outreach. The project welcomes families and individuals of all ages to join, providing a space where volunteers can contribute to local food security while gaining practical experience in urban agriculture. By connecting residents with the process of food production, Soul Food Project supports community resilience and encourages a new generation of environmentally‑aware citizens.
