Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire
Volunteer with Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire in Irvine.
Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire in Irvine engages caring community members as volunteers to transform lives and bring strength, hope, and joy to local children with critical illnesses. Volunteers are at the heart of every wish experience, offering their time, unique talents, and freedom to choose how they help. The chapter provides a wide variety of ways to get involved, including event volunteers who assist with local fundraising and outreach tasks, and Wish Granters who work in pairs to meet with children and their families to help determine and plan their one true wish. Additional opportunities include professional service roles for photographers, videographers, grant writers, and data analysts, as well as Speaker's Bureau volunteers and Wish Ambassadors who promote mission awareness and share their stories. Supporters can also take on leadership roles on committees and teams to support the fundraising-development department. Prospective volunteers over the age of 18 are invited to attend a mandatory hour-long information session, complete an application, and successfully clear a background check for select positions. Through these diverse roles, volunteers play a critical, valued part in delivering the Make-A-Wish mission forward.
