Bike Central LA advocates for safe cycling infrastructure and organizes group rides in Los Angeles neighborhoods.

Bike Central LA is a local chapter of BikeLA dedicated to making Los Angeles' central neighborhoods safe for cyclists. Serving areas including Downtown, Westlake, Koreatown, Rampart Village, Historic Filipinotown, Elysian Park, Echo Park, Silver Lake, Los Feliz, East Hollywood, and Beachwood Canyon, the group was formed in September 2022 after a founding member realized that navigating the city by bike improved his health, happiness, and connection to his community. The organization's mission involves three core pillars: infrastructure improvement, education, and group rides. The leadership team consists of residents from Echo Park, Silver Lake, and Westlake, supported by dozens of volunteers and active members. Bike Central LA believes that creating safer cycling conditions will reduce transportation-related pollution, prevent fatalities for vulnerable road users, increase mobility freedom for all, and foster a more integrated, interactive, human-scale community. The group encourages solidarity in building a better present and a cleaner future. Interested individuals can follow the organization on Instagram at @bikecentral_la or contact them via email at [email protected].
