Los Angeles Wheelmen Bicycle Club

The Los Angeles Wheelmen Bicycle Club is a group of bicyclists who enjoy riding with friends and seeing Los Angeles and Southern California on two wheels. The club offers leisurely social rides as well as hard-challenging rides, with a policy to stay together, keep track of everyone on the route, and help each other with flats and malfunctions. Every route sheet includes lunch stops, and guests are welcome on all rides. Members gather every Sunday morning for easy, moderate, and more ambitious rides starting from various places in Los Angeles, Orange, and occasionally Ventura Counties, while Saturday mornings feature shorter, often tougher rides. The club administers and records Century Challenge rides for cyclists testing themselves on 100-mile routes and, since 2016, 100-kilometer routes for the Metric Century Challenge. The calendar is packed with special rides and events, highlighted in late June by The Grand Tour, a fully supported 24-hour Double Metric, Double Century, Triple, and Quad, along with the shorter Grand Tour Lite in the fall. Helmets are mandatory on all rides, and the club is open to all cyclists.
