LA Chess Social hosts monthly chess and live music events at rotating Los Angeles venues.

LA Chess Social is a monthly gathering that brings together chess enthusiasts and music lovers at a different Los Angeles venue each month. The event combines casual chess play with curated live performances, creating a relaxed atmosphere where participants can enjoy games while listening to world‑class entertainment. The organizers emphasize a friendly community vibe, welcoming players of all skill levels to join in the fun. Venues range from sophisticated spaces to cozy neighborhood spots, reflecting the diverse character of the city’s chess scene. In addition to its own events, the group points attendees toward the many other chess clubs and socials that meet throughout the week across Los Angeles, encouraging a broader engagement with the local chess culture. Each month the location changes, giving regulars a chance to explore new parts of the city while maintaining a consistent format of play and music. The next scheduled event is a double feature with the Highland Park Chess Club on October 23rd at the Goldfish, illustrating the collaborative spirit that defines the Social’s approach.
