Los Feliz Chess Club meets Sundays in Los Angeles for friendly pickup games.

The Los Feliz Chess Club is a welcoming community group based in Los Angeles that hosts casual pickup chess games every Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The club prioritizes friendliness and community over competition, aiming to make chess accessible to everyone regardless of skill level. Organizers emphasize that many newcomers worry they are not good enough to join, but the group insists that anyone with good-natured sportsmanship is welcome. Participants are encouraged to show up ready to learn, as the group is known for being some of the most welcoming folks in the city. Whether you are looking for a quick game or a chance to chat while playing, the club fosters a supportive environment where members share stories and enjoy the camaraderie of the game together.
