Odyssey Games Pasadena hosts monthly chess tournaments and lessons for players of all skill levels.

Odyssey Games Pasadena is a community gathering place dedicated to the game of chess, offering a welcoming environment for players ranging from beginners to advanced enthusiasts. While the group typically features players with a higher skill level, with an average rating around 1000, everyone is encouraged to attend and participate. The organization meets on the first Saturday of every month from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., providing a consistent time for local chess enthusiasts to connect. Members can pay a small fee of $3 to take part in organized small tournaments, where the focus remains on the game itself rather than intense competition. In addition to tournament play, participants have the opportunity to receive informal lessons from experienced members, fostering a supportive atmosphere where skill levels do not dictate inclusion. The group believes that chess is a universal language enjoyed by people everywhere, from local communities to distant corners of the globe. By bringing people together regularly, Odyssey Games Pasadena aims to cultivate a sense of camaraderie and shared appreciation for the strategic art of chess, ensuring that the community remains accessible and inclusive for all who wish to join in.
