Bureau of General Services–Queer Division Book Clubs in New York City. Free monthly book discussions for lesbian and radical queer readers.

The Bureau of General Services–Queer Division offers two distinct book clubs for members of the LGBTQ+ community in New York City. The Lesbian Book Club focuses on reading fiction and non-fiction works that are classic, contemporary, revealing, and visionary, with a specific emphasis on lesbian authors and related topics. This group was cofounded by Judi Komaki and Piper Olsen. Their recent selection is The New Fuck You: Adventures in Lesbian Reading, edited by Eileen Myles and Liz Kotz. The second group, the Radical Queer Reading Group, dedicates its discussions to radical leftist texts centered on queer liberation, anti-capitalism, and anti-colonialism. Their current read is Let This Radicalize You by Kelly Hayes and Mariame Kaba. Both meetings are free and require no registration. The meetings take place in room 210 of The LGBT Community Center, located at 208 W. 13th St., Manhattan. Participants can also receive discounts on books if they mention the book club when checking out at the Bureau.
