Goldfish Swim School – Gowanus offers year-round, structured swim lessons for ages 4 months to 12 in Brooklyn.

Goldfish Swim School – Gowanus is a trusted swim school located in the heart of Brooklyn, New York, serving families in neighborhoods including Glendale and surrounding areas. We provide structured, year-round swim lessons for children and infants between the ages of 4 months and 12 years, designed to fit into busy family routines while supporting steady, measurable progress. Our facility features a warm indoor pool that supports uninterrupted learning throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions. We believe there is never a bad time to learn to swim, which is why our curriculum, The Science of SwimPlay®, focuses on guided play to help children build confidence, discipline, trust, and athleticism in the water. Our small class sizes and attentive instructors ensure that every child receives age-appropriate training, whether they are newborns learning supported floating or preteens mastering essential water safety skills. We offer flexible monthly memberships, family plans for multiple children, and make-up sessions at no additional cost if a lesson is missed. Enrollment begins as early as 4 months old, and we recommend weekly attendance to maintain skill retention. Before classes begin, we provide a free swim skills assessment to determine the appropriate placement for each child. Our priority is to instill lifelong confidence in and around the water through empathy, incremental processes, and positive coaching, ensuring that every swimmer feels comfortable, safe, and encouraged to thrive. From first splashes to refined strokes, our certified instructors guide children through levels that match their age and comfort level, helping them move toward life-saving swimming abilities with patience and care.
