Luma Network – a tech startup community in New York.

Luma Network, operating under the Startup+ brand, is a fast‑growing tech community that brings together founders, engineers, investors, recruiters, freelancers and mentors in New York. Launched in 2021 when virtual mixers fell short, the group now hosts high‑energy, in‑person events that focus on real conversations rather than panels or speeches. Members gain exclusive access to subscriber‑only ticket drops via a Substack newsletter that reaches over 11,000 insiders, and they join a broader network of more than 3,000 builders on Luma and 16,000 members across NYC Meetup groups. Since its start, Luma has organized 75+ mixers, 12 pitch nights and welcomed roughly 6,000 attendees through the door, with a total community of around 25,000 members. Events require RSVP through Luma, have capped capacity, and encourage business‑casual attire, name tags and easy networking tools like business cards or LinkedIn QR codes. By joining, participants agree to photo and video use for future promotions and to receive event invitations via email. The community’s goal is simple: connect good people, spark collaboration, and let the magic of building happen in real rooms.
