The Pittsburgh Pride Choir is western Pennsylvania’s only LGBTQIA+ and allies choral group, dedicated to affirming and celebrating LGBTQIA+ identity through the unifying power of music. Based in Pittsburgh, the choir strives to promote a positive image of the LGBTQIA+ community and serve as a leading contributor to the cultural life of the tri-state area. The group seeks to build bridges both within the LGBTQIA+ community and with the community at large. Its programming features a blend of challenging contemporary music, commissions of new works, ambitious traditional repertoires, and music from diverse world cultures. Through every performance, the choir aims to educate, challenge, and enlighten both audiences and singing members alike, continually affirming the worth and dignity of community members by example and through song. Music that is queer-positive and openly supports human equality and justice is proudly represented at all concerts, reflecting an ongoing commitment to advocacy and artistic excellence.
