Pittsburgh Swing Dance Community
Pittsburgh Swing Dance Community – Lindy Hop lessons and socials in Pittsburgh.
The Pittsburgh Swing Dance Community (PSDC) is the city’s hub for Lindy Hop, offering a welcoming environment for dancers of all skill levels. Every Wednesday the group holds a month‑long lesson series starting on the first Wednesday, followed by an open social dance that requires no partner or prior experience. Classes run from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the social continues until 10:00 pm, giving participants plenty of time to practice new moves. All events take place on the ground floor of the Wilkins School Community Center in Regent Square (7604 Charleston Ave), with a wheelchair‑accessible entrance at the back of the building. PSDC emphasizes a safe, inclusive atmosphere through its Safer Spaces policy, which outlines consent and floor‑safety procedures for every attendee. Whether you’re new to swing or a seasoned dancer, the community provides progressive lessons, occasional weekend workshops, and a friendly social scene where anyone can join the fun.
