Riverside Healthcare Volunteer Program

Riverside Healthcare Volunteer Program – serving patients and staff in Riverside.

The Riverside Healthcare Volunteer Program invites community members to support patients, families, and staff across Riverside’s hospitals and senior communities. Volunteers help in clinical settings, customer service, gift shop, clerical support, and educational programming. Opportunities are available at multiple locations, including Riverside Senior Life Communities in Kankakee and Bourbonnais, Riverside Cancer Institute, Bourbonnais Plaza, Watseka, Peotone, Manteno, Coal City, Kankakee East Court, Momence, and Wilmington. The program welcomes students, working adults, and retirees, with a minimum age of 15 and a required commitment of 20 hours for students. Applications are accepted year‑round, and a special summer program runs from June to August. Interested individuals complete a Volunteer Interest Form online; a staff member will then provide orientation details and background‑check instructions. The program also hosts a Paws and Connect initiative, where certified animal ambassadors bring trained dogs to visit patients, enhancing healing. Contact Volunteer Services at (815) 935‑3277 or fill out the online form to join the team.
