Vivace Youth Chorus of San José offers music education and performance for K-12 students in Santa Clara County.

Vivace Youth Chorus of San José provides a high-quality musical education program where singers aged 6–18 can find community, confidence, and creative expression. The organization serves more than 675 K-12 students in Santa Clara County annually through classes, workshops, and events, while performing for over 4,000 people each year via self-produced concerts and community gatherings. Vivace employs the Kodály method, beginning with singing, movement, and games before advancing to complex musical concepts, allowing students to progress naturally from training to performing ensembles. Classroom games reflect diverse cultures, and the repertoire spans classical, folk, and modern styles in multiple languages including Spanish, Thai, Hebrew, Czech, and Japanese. The program balances age-appropriate vocal training, music literacy, and theory while fostering collaboration, compassion, and inclusivity. As a non-auditioned choir, Vivace strives to provide a space for every student who desires to sing, ensuring an affirming and safe environment where all participants can find their voice and explore creativity together.
