Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus is a nonprofit educational organization in Tucson dedicated to choral music for boys.
The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to providing boys in the community with an enriched experience through the study and performance of choral music. Founded in 1939 by Eduardo Caso, the Chorus aims to impart musical, social, and leadership skills that build self-esteem and serve as an artistic and cultural resource for Tucson. Under Caso's vision, the group quickly gained national attention, touring across the United States and abroad, including performances at the White House and the Chicago World's Fair. Following Caso's passing in 1965, the Chorus continued its mission through the leadership of Jeffrey Haskell, who guided it to a permanent home on East Pima Street in 1975. Dr. John S. Davis later maintained the tradition of excellence before Dr. Julian Ackerley oversaw a period of remarkable expansion in the 1980s, leading to extensive international tours and collaborations with major orchestras. As of 2025, Dr. Jordan Rakita serves as Artistic Director, continuing the Chorus's commitment to youth development and musical excellence for over eight decades.
