Play Reading
The Play Reading group is an interest group within the University Women's Club of Vancouver. It meets on the second and fourth Friday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Participants gather to read a good play together and discuss some of the issues that may arise from the text. No great acting ability is required; the only prerequisite is a desire to enjoy reading plays and engaging in thoughtful conversation. The group offers a relaxed and welcoming environment for members who appreciate drama and literature. By meeting twice a month, it provides a regular opportunity to explore a variety of plays and share perspectives in a friendly setting. Whether you are an experienced theatre enthusiast or simply curious about play reading, this group invites you to take part in the experience. The discussions are intended to be enjoyable and stimulating, allowing participants to delve into themes, characters, and ideas presented in each play. Joining the group is a chance to connect with other members of the club who share an interest in the written and performed word. The focus is on enjoyment and discussion rather than performance, making it accessible to everyone. This interest group is one of many member-directed activities offered by the club, reflecting its vibrant community. If the idea of reading plays and talking about them appeals to you, this group may be the perfect fit.
