The International Women's Club of Thailand (IWC Thailand) was founded in 1964 with the primary objective of fostering friendship and understanding between women of all nationalities while promoting women's causes worldwide. Membership is open to women from over 70 countries and is available to all nationalities, making it an ideal place for new residents in Bangkok to meet ladies from diverse cultures and broaden their social circles. Whether staying for a short time or an extended period, the club welcomes members and offers monthly events including Monthly Luncheons, cultural activities visiting historic sites around Bangkok, 'Getting to Know You' sessions with the diplomatic community, and small group activities focused on hobbies and crafts. The club was officially established in 1965 under the presidency of M.R. Sermsri Kasemsri, with encouragement from Mom Ngarmchitr Purachatra, the then president of the International Council of Women. Since its inception, the IWC has emphasized mutual understanding without discrimination of race or creed and has promoted education, social interest, and the welfare of women and children. The club's main objectives include broadening women's interest in current affairs to encourage the promotion of women's status and keeping abreast of other women's organizations, creating a welcoming environment where women learn to appreciate different cultures and respect one another.
