Nation Station
Nation Station is a community kitchen in Beirut that emerged in the aftermath of the devastating 2020 blast, later expanding its efforts to address the growing humanitarian needs caused by widespread displacement. As Israeli evacuation orders, airstrikes, and ground combat force hundreds of thousands of people from their homes—including entire regions of southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, and parts of Beirut itself—Nation Station has become a vital hub for preparing and distributing meals to those affected. Operating on the frontlines of Lebanon’s escalating crisis, the group relies on grassroots organizing and mutual aid to provide immediate relief where formal support systems have failed. Their work reflects the resilience of local communities, who continue to step up despite a collapsing economy, political instability, and the absence of effective government intervention. Nation Station’s efforts are rooted in solidarity, ensuring that displaced families and vulnerable populations receive not just food, but also a sense of dignity and connection in a time of profound upheaval.
