The Green Knights is West Ridge's chess team competing in Chicago-area tournaments.

The Green Knights is the chess team of West Ridge, based in Chicago, that competes against other city and suburban schools in tournaments throughout the school year. Team members receive after-school instruction and take part in practice games each week while school is in session. To join, students must meet academic qualifications and attend instruction and practice sessions regularly. The team relies on donations to fund instruction and tournament participation; those wishing to contribute can email Mr. Myers or call the school office at 773-534-8250. For updates and announcements, the team maintains a blog, and additional chess tutorial resources are referenced on their page.
