City of Learning in Dallas provides summer learning opportunities for all students.

The City of Learning is a partner organization within the City of Dallas Volunteer Program, dedicated to ensuring that all students have access to summer learning opportunities. This initiative works closely with the Mayor's Office to benefit greatly from community support, aiming to keep students engaged and learning during the summer months. As part of the Dallas Volunteer Program, which has been a partnership between VolunteerNow and the City since 2001, City of Learning helps recruit and place qualified volunteers throughout the city. This program saves the municipality millions of dollars annually by ensuring critical services are not interrupted despite budget cuts, while also allowing volunteers to develop professional skills and understand the work of local officials. By participating, citizens contribute to making Dallas a safe, affordable, vibrant, innovative, and interconnected city. City of Learning stands alongside other partners such as CitySquare, Dallas ISD, Reading Partners, and World Affairs Council to support various community goals including fighting poverty, improving education, and fostering cross-cultural understanding in the North Texas community.
