Dallas ISD volunteers to support students and make a difference in Dallas.

Dallas ISD is a community organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students within the Dallas Independent School District. As a partner organization supported by the City of Dallas Mayor's Office, the group focuses on unlocking student potential and raising reading achievement through initiatives like Reading Partners. Their mission extends beyond the classroom to foster neighborhood camaraderie and safety by supporting various community events, including neighborhood tree planting, block parties, crime watch meetings, and Operation Beautification projects. The organization actively encourages residents to get involved through the City of Dallas Volunteer Program, which has partnered with them since 2001 to recruit qualified volunteers and provide training. By volunteering or donating, members help strengthen connections between people and animals through the Dallas Companion Animal Project, support families affected by domestic violence via Family Place and Genesis Women's Shelter, and contribute to broader goals such as fighting poverty through CitySquare and promoting cross-cultural understanding with the World Affairs Council. Dallas ISD remains a vital participant in ensuring critical services continue and transforming communities through homeownership and financial stability initiatives.
