Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association

Friendly beginner ballroom dance classes and socials in Honolulu and across Hawaii.

The Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association is a volunteer-run nonprofit offering beginner-friendly ballroom dance classes and socials across Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii Island. Founded in 1959, the organization teaches American Style ballroom dances like the waltz, swing, and cha cha in relaxed eight-week sessions designed for people with no prior experience or partner. Classes are led by patient, trained instructors and are held weekly at community parks, temple halls, and studios. Membership and class fees are kept affordable to make dancing accessible to everyone. In addition to weekly lessons, members gather for chapter parties, holiday balls, and socials that foster a welcoming community. New classes start every January, April, July, and October, welcoming singles and couples alike to learn steps they can use on any dance floor.
