Founded in 2000 by Gen Horiuchi and co-directed by Tanya Strautmann, St. Louis Ballet School provides a professional and encouraging environment for students of all ages and levels in St. Louis. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum centered on classical ballet technique alongside diverse class offerings including tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and adult classes. Classes are taught by experienced instructors, including company dancers, who maintain high standards while fostering an inviting atmosphere. Students benefit from multiple weekly classes at the same level to improve technique, as well as performance opportunities such as the annual year-end performance and potential auditions for Saint Louis Ballet's professional productions like The Nutcracker. Dedicated to building both technical skill and character, the school welcomes everyone from young children in Mommy and Me and pre-ballet classes to serious college-aged students and adult beginners.
