The Elev8 Volunteer Mentor Program in Baltimore empowers students to succeed in school through professional guidance and community support. Serving as a Tier 2 attendance intervention, the program utilizes a social-emotional learning curriculum developed by the organization and is supported by a custom mentoring app. Volunteer mentors are paired with three to four students from an Elev8 partner school, meeting twice a week during the school day between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Each session lasts between 45 minutes and one hour on two predetermined days, focusing on improving attendance, setting goals, and building strong social-emotional skills. On-site Elev8 staff provide ongoing support and resources to ensure mentors can serve effectively while in the school.
