The Screen In Transit

The Screen In Transit is a Lagos and Abuja-based nomadic microcinema collective that reimagines how we experience film. Instead of traditional screenings, they curate intimate, thoughtfully themed sessions designed to bring people together to watch, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversation. Their programming focuses on African and Global South cinema, exploring stories centered on home, identity, gender, and the environment. Co-run and co-curated by Ifeoluwa Olutayo, Amanda Madumere, Rete Poki, and Zainab Ibrahim, the collective moves across spaces and cities, collaborating with cultural institutions and creative communities along the way. They have partnered on international series like *A Taste of Home: African Cinema in London*, screening films such as *This Is Not a Burial, It’s a Resurrection* and Nigerian shorts. Their approach emphasizes connection over passive viewing, using cinema as a catalyst for dialogue, curiosity, and shared understanding rather than a quiet, solitary experience.
