Sort & Pack Crew
Sort & Pack Crew volunteers at Mid-South Food Bank in Memphis to help pack, organize, and support local agencies.
The Sort & Pack Crew is a dedicated team of volunteers at Mid-South Food Bank in Memphis who play a vital role in changing lives across the Mid-South region. Volunteers are the heart of our organization, gaining priceless work experience, building connections with local leadership, and bringing hope to those in need. We offer several ongoing volunteer opportunities including the Sort & Pack Crew, which involves inspecting donated products, categorizing items, and packing boxes for our network of Partner Agencies. The Re-Pack Room Crew assists with re-packing bulk items for agency ordering, while the Agency Mart Crew manages product shelves, cleans areas, and organizes fresh produce and food items when agencies shop for supplies. Additionally, the Clerical Crew provides support with filing, data entry, and general office duties, particularly from October through December, and the Donor Relations Phone Call Crew handles donor communication and event sign-ups. Special Events Crew members participate in various food drives and community events, often outdoors, where they hold signs and encourage local giving. All volunteers are welcome, with a minimum age of ten, though some roles require volunteers to be at least 18 years old. Sign-up opportunities are posted weekly on VOMO, and we accept volunteer groups ranging from 10 to 50 people. For more information or to sign up, please contact Volunteer Services.
