Aasra is a Mumbai-based volunteering group connecting people with local charities.

Aasra is a community initiative based in Mumbai dedicated to connecting individuals with local charitable organizations and volunteer opportunities. The group curates a list of credible non-profits and charities in the city, categorized by whether a volunteer has time, money, or simply the intention to contribute. For those with time, Aasra highlights opportunities such as mentoring students through the Freedom Employability Academy, assisting The Welfare of Street Dogs in caring for stray animals, coaching football with Slum Soccer to help underprivileged youth, and planting trees via Green Yatra. For those wishing to donate money, the group points to organizations like the Lawyer's Collective for legal aid, Aasra itself for mental health crisis intervention, Humsafar Trust for LGBTQ rights, and SNEHA for supporting women and children's health. Additionally, for those with the intention to do good, Aasra suggests donating recyclable scrap through ReCircle, giving old books to Librarywala, or donating old furniture to Share At Your Doorstep. The group aims to help residents find causes they can relate to and contribute to, ranging from professional mentorship and animal welfare to legal support and environmental conservation.
