Cathedral Choristers is a youth choir program at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in Oklahoma.
The Cathedral Choristers program at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in Oklahoma provides a foremost musical education that embraces the tradition of children's voices, drawing inspiration from nearly a thousand years of daily singing in English cathedrals. The holistic approach places equal emphasis on musical development, religious education, leadership training, and social activities. Participants receive professional training in sight-reading, ear-training, and music theory. The program is open to boys and girls in grades K through 12, including teen boys with changed voices. Rehearsals occur twice per week and every Sunday, with flexibility offered in scheduling. Choristers perform at Choral Evensong on the third Wednesday of each month and Sunday Choral Evensong every other month. No prior choir experience is required, only a willingness to sing. Membership at St. Paul's or a specific religious affiliation is not required; the program is available to anyone interested in joining. Interested families should contact Canon Musician Joseph Ripka to set up a meeting. The program operates from Mid-September through late May, with rehearsals typically held Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the choir room.
