CASA volunteer program
CASA volunteer program in Stockton supports foster children.
The CASA volunteer program in Stockton invites community members to become advocates for children in foster care. Volunteers act as consistent, caring witnesses in the child’s life, attending court hearings, visiting the child, and meeting with professionals to ensure the child’s needs are met and to help secure a safe, permanent home. To qualify, volunteers must be at least 21 years old, pass a thorough background check, and complete 30 hours of pre‑service training. Although no legal experience is required, all volunteers receive comprehensive training, ongoing education, and supervision from program staff. Typical volunteer commitments are 10–15 hours per month, which allows for flexibility while maintaining a meaningful presence. The program emphasizes that volunteers come from all walks of life and that the impact of a single advocate can be profound. Interested individuals can contact the Child Abuse Prevention Council of San Joaquin County by phone at (209) 464‑4524 or by email at [email protected] for more information and to discuss volunteer requirements.
