Stockton Animal Shelter Volunteer Services – helping animals in Stockton

Stockton Animal Shelter Volunteer Services is a nonprofit program that recruits and trains volunteers to support the shelter’s mission of caring for homeless animals in Stockton and the surrounding San Joaquin County. Volunteers help companion animals through a range of tasks, from washing and drying bedding to walking dogs, bottle‑feeding kittens, and assisting with adoption appointments. The program works in partnership with the San Francisco SPCA, bringing additional expertise and resources to the shelter’s daily operations. Monthly volunteer orientations provide training in animal behavior, health and safety protocols, and community outreach. Volunteers also participate in educational activities that promote animal welfare to visitors and the wider community. The shelter is located at 1575 S. Lincoln St. in Stockton, California, and can be reached by phone at 209‑937‑7073. Whether you have experience with animals or are new to volunteering, the program welcomes anyone interested in making a difference for the shelter’s residents. The volunteers’ dedication helps ensure each animal receives personalized care and a chance for a new home.
