Greater Faith Baptist Church

Greater Faith Baptist Church is a Christ-centered, Bible-based congregation located in the heart of Stockton in Northern California. First organized on October 21, 1945, by the late Dr. Austin E. Williams in the home of Deacon Dan Caldwell with six members present, the church eventually constructed a new building at 345 West Worth Street in 1951. Over the decades, the church has been led by several pastors, including Dr. Williams, Rev. E. F. Carter, Dr. M. L. Paskell, Rev. Alfred Norris, Rev. Aaron Neal, and Pastor Joseph L. Slade, who served until his retirement in 2005. Throughout its history, Greater Faith has expanded its facilities and ministries to foster spiritual growth and encourage participation in church work. Past developments include sanctuary renovations, technological updates, the acquisition of additional properties, and the implementation of diverse programs such as Discipleship Classes, New Members Orientation, Wednesday Night Prayer and Bible Study, a Transportation Ministry, various outreach programs, and children and Christian education classes. The congregation continues to build upon the foundation laid by its early members while striving to increase its faith.
